If you compare the physical world with the virtual world, you will notice that there is a faster progress in the virtual world compared to the physical in India. Compared to the developed world, we too have access to the internet, social media, artificial intelligence, games, mobiles, laptops and other forms of hardware and software. When you compare the physical world, we are behind but improving in some ways and detoriating in others, we do have highways but most of the roads are not good, we have good airports, cars are good but we don't have all models, we have restraunts but not the best, we are building infrastructure but its slow.
If you look at social attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, values they are vastly different with some form of global convergence but still having vast differences. Society and Culture is vastly different across different parts of the world. It takes generations to make changes to this and the convergence might take places at higher income levels but those at the grassroots may not converge?
A large part of this was due to bureaucracy, the government, media all looking elsewhere while virtual worlds started build. You also needed to be smart to have an impact in its building. Then there’s less of resource constraints.
I wonder if through AI we will tend to value virtual worlds lesser because its less human?
